How to stop when Firefox launches, it reinstalls cookies that were deleted.

Posted

Firefox Mac. I use MacScan to find and delete tracking cookies. But there are 5 cookies that are stored in Firefox somehow and reinstalled when Firefox is launched. I have Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera browsers. I can open any of them except Firefox and these cookies are not found by MacScan. As soon as I launch Firefox, the hard drive is active longer than is necessary to launch a browser and these cookies appear.

They are reported as as tracking cookies and are named: rotator.adjugler.com www.burstnet.com data.coremetrics.com ad.wsod.com ad.wsod.com

If I delete them, they stay gone until I next launch Firefox.

Any ideas?

Instead of collecting cookies to opt out of other cookies, why not just default to blocking cookies and make exceptions for those that you want?
