I was to copy pref.js but deleted it instead. Can I make replacement?

Chosen solution

IIRC on XP if you delete a file then by default it goes to the rubbish bin and you will have an option to recreate the deleted file. (Files on other drives or using; I think; shift delete deletes permanently.)

The prefs.js file will be created and modified as you manually recreate your configuration by making changes to Firefox.
