If you set your home page to "Show a blank page," it should be completely blank. If content is being inserted there, it could be by one of your add-ons.

A standard diagnostic step is to try Firefox's Safe Mode to see whether it is caused by a custom setting or add-on.

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."

If the home page now appears blank, you can assume that an add-on or custom setting is the culprit.

Oh, yes... Sorry, forgot about this. Yes, it was feature of some of add-on installed. I should remove them periodically.

I disabled a few add-ons, those I could suspect,, the a safe start with all disabled,, the content is still there,, the info were last bookmarks,, I deleted b4 I began searching problem to resolve, I operate > never remember history PROBLEM PERSIST,,, will uninstall FF14 NOW/// retention of history/data that I cannot access/remove is UNACCEPTABLE

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

Hi pissTOff, the original post in this thread was about Firefox 11, so I think you need to describe your situation in more detail. Are you talking about the nine thumbnails on the new tab page introduced in Firefox 13?
