Maybe your preferences are not saving.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Preferences%20are%20not%20saved

If the above does not fix your problem, you can try this.

An alternative method will be directly editing the config... not sure if it will work or not.

--> Type about:config in the address bar and click on "I'll be careful, I promise" --> In the filter text box, enter "browser.startup.homepage" --> Right click and select modify. --> Enter the desired website and press "Ok"

Also make sure that the value of "browser.startup.page" is set to 1

If you still have the problem, can you tell if you did anything out of the ordinary that caused the homepage option to behave like this.

Once you have your preferred start page displayed, you should be able to set that as your home page once again. See How to set the home page | How to | Firefox Help. Does it work?

If it keeps changing when you start up Firefox again, it could indicate that an add-on is changing your home page, or that Firefox is having a problem saving your settings changes.

I tried all suggestions and none worked

What is your home page set to in Options, and when the problem starts, what does it change to, i.e., if you click home, where do you end up?

OK problem solved home page was set to a new home page quite by a up grade of my real player which had an unseen free tag-a-long download which i did not see. i removed the down load, but did not know right away that my browser home page had changed, when i tied to fix the problem the new page would not go away, until today, when i was finally able to copy the correct home page without other pages showing up when i pasted the real home single page in options thanks every one for your help... starsh1
