Ok, first, you are running a very out of date version of Firefox, so please update to Firefox 11.

It sounds like your computer may be infected with some sort of a virus / Malware.

I suggest the following resources:

Is my Firefox problem a Result of Malware is a Mozilla Support article with some good tips on avoiding and fighting malware.

To double check your system is clean, do the following (Not official Mozilla advice, just good practice from personal experience)

Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Download and Run TDSSKiller http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363

Download and Install Microsoft Security Essentials http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials (not an official endorsement, but I personally recommend MSE as an awesome permanent anti-virus)

Double check for all Windows Updates.

After that, I would click on Tools, then Add-ons, then inside the add-on manager, go to Extensions. See if Drop in Savings is listed there, and remove it.

Thank you for your response. I did run Malware Bytes and I have Avast as my anti virus.I did check the extensions and add- ons.It is not there. I will try the other two downloads you have listed. Will also update Firefox to 11. I have 10,thought it was the newest.Thank you again.

Another thing you can look at is https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/892877. It appears the the Youtube downloader toolbar, as well as several other toolbars can cause this. Try disabling all your extensions one by one. If the issue goes away after disabling one, you know that was the troublemaker and you can remove it.

I see some plugin with Coupon in the name in your system details list.

  1. Coupons, Inc. Coupon Printer Plugin
  2. Coupons, Inc. Coupon Printer DLL
  3. CouponNetwork Coupon Activator

So the software that added those plugins may also be the cause of that issue.

See:

You can see the installed plugins that are enabled on the about:plugins page.

You can set the plugin.expose_full_path pref to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.

Thank you again for the help. I disabled all the coupon plugins and restarted Firefox and the dropin still comes up with them all disabled. I don't have the Youtube toolbar. I looked at the about:config page, but really don't know what I'm looking for there. I have up dated to 11 on FF. Still there.

Ok, let's try this:

Create a fresh profile (instructions on how to modify your profile are here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles). Make sure you don't delete your old profile. Then start Firefox using the new fresh profile. If you don't get the issue in there, let's just more your data from your old profile to your new one.

Recovering important data from an old profile tells you what to copy from your old profile. I would move over as little as you can (example, Bookmarks, Passwords and personal Dictionary) to minimize the chance you'll copy over the Drop in Savings.

I had some trouble trying to create a new profile.Maybe I have another solution tho. My Grandson is putting Windows 7 on my computer this week, surely it wont show up there. I really hate to give up XP,but he says I need to keep up. I really appreciate all your help. You went the extra mile, and I learned some things also.

Let us know if it works. When you do put Windows 7 on, have your grandson read Recovering important data from an old profile, and only move over the information you need.
