downloads window empty

Posted

I installed then uninstalled a program called classicshellsetup that converts win7 start to xp type start features. I rebooted.

Then my tools/downloads window which was very full was now empty. If I download a file it is okay, but all the previous history of downloads is still gone. The new download is listed.

Is there any way of getting back the download list?

Chosen solution

Open Mozilla Firefox. 2

Go to the browser toolbar and click on "Tools." On a PC, your browser toolbar will run across the top of your Firefox browser window. On a Mac, your toolbar will be listed across the top of your computer screen, to the right of the Apple symbol. The Mozilla Firefox support site notes you can also access your download list by pressing the "Command" and "J" buttons. 3

Select "Downloads" from the pop-up list. Your download list will now appear on your screen. If you have not downloaded any items, your download list will be blank. Otherwise, all of your downloaded items for your most recent Firefox session will be noted in the list.

Question owner

I probably was unclear. I was using the download toolbar without any problems. About 20 downloads were listed. I think the computer or firefox may have crashed. Then no downloads were listed. It is though now working fine with new downloads appearing. I had a look at a downloads.rdf file but could not make sense of it.

This is not worth spending much time on. I guess I was left with a little future insecurity that the download list may disappear. I do of course have my downloaded programs. I guess this sort of thing can happen after a cash. I wondered if there was a log of the downloaded files?
