Firefox crashes

Firefox began to lock up more and more often over the past few weeks. About 10 days ago, it quit working altogether. It would hang on start up and not display the home page. After restarting and force quitting multiple times, I tried to delete the program and re-install it. I still get the same problem and can't seem to get around it. When I look in the crash report folder, the most recent report it shows is the one I pasted below in the crash ID block, but that was from Jan. 10. Today's items do not appear. I did copy and paste the full report from my most recent crash below, even though it does not appear in my crash id history.

The crash report id you provided is for Firefox 8.0.1. Please provide a more recent crash id from about:crashes -> https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report

I have been submitting crash reports when it crashes, but there is no record of them in the submitted reports file. I tried to copy and paste the full report here, but it was too long of a file to post. Is there any way to get a current crash ID # when the browser will not open at all? I searched the report the system generated to send to Apple, but did not see a crash ID # there. Is it possible for me to email that crash report to you?

On Windows it is C:\Documents and Settings\*USERNAME*\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports

I think on the Mac it is Library/Application Support/Firefox/Crash Reports

Check if there are any items in the pending and/or submitted folder
