I'm able to access some of my bookmarks but when I try a basic Google search, I receive this message: "The operation can not be completed because of an internal failure. A secure network communication has not been cleaned up correctly."
Essentially, I can get to Firefox for a little bit, and then everything stops. When I exit, I receive the message.

Try to clear the Active Logins via Clear Recent History
- Tools > Options > Privacy : History: [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings
You can also try to rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) in the Firefox Profile Folder in case there is a problem with the file.
You may have to rename cert8.db (cert8.db.old) as well.
Firefox will create new files.
If that solves the problem then you can remove the corrupted .old files.
