How do I delete the Firefox tab bar?

Posted

I do not like the Firefox tab bar. How can I get rid of it ?

Chosen solution

That is the tab bar, but you can only hide that bar if you switch to full screen mode (press F11 to toggle full screen mode). Otherwise you would have to avoid opening tabs if you do not want to see the tab bar.

Tools > Options -> Tabs = un-check Always show the tab bar

Question owner

I probably didn't ask my question correctly. I would like to delete the bar at the top of my screen wherein I can click on a tab and it take me back to a previous website I have visited. I suppose it should be named "The Tabs Tab Bar". I hope you can understand what I am trying to describe. Thank You.

Do you mean the Back button on the Navigation Toolbar ?

Can you attach a screenshot to clarify what you mean?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

No. I'm sorry for the confusion,. When you open a website with firefox, a tab appears at the top of that page whereby you can click on same after closing the web page and it returns you to the website again without having to retype the web address in your browser. This will occur up to seven times with seven tabs across the top of the last web page you are viewing. Each of the seven tabs indicate the website you have visited and clicking on a tab will return you to the website it indicates. Thanks for your help. It is much appreciated.
