Updated to FF 8 this morning (11/10/11). FF will open a new tab, but will not let you access it. This is true whether you click the (+) button or whether you Ctrl-click on a hyperlink. also, the small icon/avatar that used to display on the left hand side of the tab is now simply a dashed box.
