Home page lacks an address slot, ie to put in a web address

Just changed my PC and have re-installed Firefox latest. The home page does not have a line/box showing the web address, as it diod before. Therefore I have nowhere to enter a web address and press enter to open the page. I have to go through Google each time which is ridiculous. Please advise how I can get the address box up.
