Why are you updating Firefox so fast? I get problems with my Internet Bank every time before they have updated their software. And by that time you already have a new version.

I get a popup that tells there is a new version and I don't know how to get rid of it. As I have said in the question I get problems when you are updating too many times in a year. I didn't know where to ask this question. Maybe there is a better place, but I could not find it.

Chosen solution

@uinsin42, there is no Firefox 8.0.2 and 3.6.28 versions from Mozilla as the most recent for each is 8.0.1 and 3.6.24

You could turn off automatic updates:

Tools > Options > Advanced > Update

Uncheck Firefox. Sometimes we need to do that until a proper stable release has been made. This might help you delay the updates on your end until -you- or in this case, your bank, is ready for them.

If you need to use Trusteer for online banking, there is an update for Rapport.

Sorry, about the frequency of Firefox version updates, it's above my pay grade.

Use the current update for everything else.

For the Bank that is slow then you could use say the Portable Firefox 3.6.23 as it will not impact the normal Firefox install and Profile you use with it. You can install it on hard disk or on a usb flash drive even.

if you don't have anything positive to contribute which helps the "owner" of a question thread, please refrain from posting anything at all. If you need help with a problem of your own, please start your own question thread and ask for help. Otherwise you are interfering with the support process for the "owner" of this thread and that won't be tolerated here.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did finally find out that I could uncheck Firefox update and wait until my bank have done their update. (And I can of course use Internet Explorer...) But I still think you make new versions too fast.

I have downgraded from 8.0.2 to 3.6.28 and unchecked automatic updates. I prefer Firefox but there are too many problems with recent updates.

Splitting hairs, there are a lot of new versions and a brief perusal of the web clearly shows that users are having issues - Firefox is still best in my opinion!
