not generating .com after hitting ctrl+enter at any sites involving more than one period
good day, before updating to firefox 7 if i type address like mail.yahoo or forum.hddguru then hitting ctrl+enter it will generate http://www.mail.yahoo.com so same with http://www.forum.hddguru.com so it will continue to their corresponding sites now if i do the same thing it will just put www.mail.yahoo and www.forum.hddguru which is not complete and therefore i need to fill it up with a .com at the end just to browse to these sites, is there any way to fix this? thanks

In Firefox 7 the http:// & https:// part of URLs are hidden when you visit a website. So when you type google and press CTRL + Enter keys, www.google.com should be displayed instead of http://www.google.com. However .com should still appear at the end of URLs.
Troubleshooting extensions and themes
Check and tell if .com is appearing while you are browsing in Firefox Safe Mode.
Hello and thanks for reply, I'm familiar with the http:// and the https://, but the .com which is not appearing at all, I've tried it in safe mode and have the same problem with it. I'll try to re-install my Firefox and inform you the results. Thanks again.
Create a New Profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
-> Basic Troubleshooting: Make a New Profile
IF that New Profile works then you can recover your Bookmarks and Passwords from the Old Profile.
-> Recovering important data from an old profile
Check and tell if its working.

I've got the same problem with Firefox (7.0.0, 7.0.1) in WinXP, Win7 on several computers. I tried disabling browser.urlbar.trimURLs, but problem continues.

It's a problem with Firefox 7, in previous versions didn't happen. On safe mode the problem continues
Try it, in addres bar:
yahoo -> CTRL+ENTER -> www.yahoo.com
mail.yahoo -> CTRL+ENTER -> www.mail.yahoo (?)
Thanks...
Modified
As i said earlier www. and .com both are still appearing on my system for yahoo -> CTRL + Enter.
As for Email sites like mail.yahoo or mail.google, i never use mail.yahoo -> CTRL + Enter even before Firefox 7.
- I just type mail.yahoo.com or mail.google.com to use these Email websites.

I used it before and worked fine. Now in Firefox 7 doesn't work.
It's no a problem with profiles or extensions, I've try it on several machines.
Any other response ?
Thanks in advance
Confirmed that it doesn't work in Firefox 7.0.1 and later, but does in in Firefox 6.0.1 and older.
I couldn't find a bug report with search for fixup, so you can try to file a bug report with the regression keyword.
See if you can find a regression range to increase to chance to get this fixed soon..
You may want to verify this first on the mozillaZine forum, just in case.

I've found this bug report on bugzilla.
I guess that is enough, or something else is needed.
Many thanks for your support
Well said though, even in safe mode it doesn't worked. I even tried other machines. I also used this shortcut keys before and it's working fine. Even the CTRL + Shift (.net suffix) and CTRL + Shift + Enter (.org) as long as the address have an additional (.) period it will not generate the corresponding suffix.
Modified
Typing (yahoo) and hitting ctrl-enter takes me to (www.yahoo.com), but typing (mail.yahoo) and hitting ctrl-enter takes me to (www.mail.yahoo) - does not add (.com) to the end.
Started with FF 7+, used to work with earlier versions
