Chosen solution

It is contextual advertising. You should be able to eliminate by any of the following. I would suggest having both a hosts file and Adblock Plus with EasyList filter subscription.

"Adblock Plus" extension

you also need filter(s) such as "Easylist" filter subscription so after installing
right-click on the status-bar icon and choose "Preferences"
then on the Filters menu --> Add subscription --> EasyList

Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts File

Blocking is at the system level
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
To view/use the HOSTS file offered above in plain text form
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.txt (596 kb)
If you add any of your own you will have to keep them at the top
and manually include the online hosts.txt file below your own.

Hosts file is more oriented to protecting your system from the really bad or prevalent stuff by its hostname. Don't confuse it with antivirus protection either.

BLOCKED TOO MUCH -- with Adblock Plus -- No Problem:

With the ease of blocking items in Adblock Plus occasionally you may be too aggressive and suddenly see the entire page disappear. Adblock Plus provides features to help you find out specifically what you are blocking with on a page.

As seen in Preferences ("Ctrl+Shift+F"), ABP maintains separate filter groups - Filters you created yourself (Exception Rules, Blocking Rules, Element Hiding Rules) - Separate Groups for each subscription filter

The Blockable Items Report ("Ctrl+Shift+V") is where you go to see what is blockable, what is blocked, and if blocked what the rule is by hovering on the row with the mouse. It will also give the source, so you can see if it was your rule. The right mouse button brings up a context menu with options. Columns I show are {address, filter, type, state} chosen at the right of the headers. I sort on State so block items in red are at the top.

You can use the Report to make the changes you need. Changes you make will be seen in the Preferences.

You're welcome. Seventeen minutes form posting reply to getting fixed message using either hosts file or adblock plus extension must be close to record time for either solution. I would install both the each have their advantages.
