skipps past and forward when trying to move between web pages...why?

After moving through web pages, I try to go back or go forward to previously visited page, I click on the arrows and it skips to the next page beyond. Sometimes I have to reselect the page and sometimes I can get back by repeatedly using the mouse. I hope this makes sense. kevco
