Updates are costing me previous tabs sessions

Question Every time I quit firefox I just restore my previous session to get back up my previously viewed windows. Often I might have 6-10 tabs open with differnet research sources open. Whenever firefox updates itself and installs new features, the "restor previous tabs" button is gone so I lose my previous tabs thanks to an update.. kinda useless, isn't it?
