After Firefox upgraded to version 6 just now, my add-on manager hangs permanently when I try to access it. How do I fix this or downgrade to version 5?

During the update process, it said one add-on, the java console, wasn't compatible and would be disabled.

This is a common problem caused by bug in the Firefox 6 upgrade process. Fortunately, you should be able to solve it by clicking on any of the tabs on the left-hand side of the add-on manager (Get Add-ons, Appearance, Plugins...).
