Firefox crashes all the time. Several times a day. Today it was 7 times in two hours already. I always choose to send a report in hope this problem will be fixed sometime. But see no progress, it's just getting worse and worse!

Is this only happening since you upgraded to firefox 6 ?

Have you tried to obtain Crash Signatures ?

When you query them for a crash ID miss off the leading -bp and the trailing date and time.

I did try a couple of those:

It may be that you are crashing a lot and are not getting a consistent signature, are other programs or applications crashing or is it only Firefox ?

Have you done a full system security scan recently ?

Firefox crashes tend to be rather specific, and it is quite possibly something on your own machine causing the crash rather than any general problem with Firefox. Have you tried using safe Mode but do not make changes just click continue, and also try disabling, or maybe even uninstalling any plugins.

(edit - fixed a link to Safe Mode KB article)

> Is this only happening since you upgraded to firefox 6 ? No, but it came to be even more often after upgrade.

> Have you tried to obtain Crash Signatures ? A got "Page not Found" after the second step. Still the same when I remove "bp-" from the adress bar. https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/c6f418ac-2eb5-4927-b21b-691642110819

> are other programs or applications crashing or is it only Firefox ? Well, sometimes - maybe once a month, a week - but not several times a day as Firefox.

> Have you done a full system security scan recently ? Well, I think Windows does it for me automatically. But in case it's not so, I just started it manually and now waiting for the results.

About SafeMode and disabling plugins. I already disabled most of them. And already suffer without them a lot. If it's possible to use Firefox only without plugins - what's the point of using it at all? I chose this browser two or three years ago especially because it provided so much possibilities and was faster and didn't crash...

Oh, it just crashed again...

Well I'll try to uninstall plugins but it'll probably make me to quit using Firefox. And the SafeMode too - even if Firefox will not crash in safe mode I can't use my PC always in safe mode. It's not that my Firefox isn't starting and I can fix it in safe mode to make it start and then just use normally. It starts and it it works - for some time. I don't know what to fix.

And thanks everybody for answers.

We are not trying to say you should only use Firefox in Safe Mode or without Plugins, but something is causing your crashes, and that something is not likely to be the core of firefox itself but some other software. We are hoping you can run the basic Firefox browser without crashing, and then when you re-enable things in stages you may be able to deduce what the likely culprit is.

mha007, I cleared cash and cookies but it didn't help. I can't troubleshoot plugins and themes because I don't know what circumstances cause crashes.

John99, I tried the safemode when Firefox refused to start at all this morning, crashing every time. Well, in safemode with disabled plugins it crashed the same... Firefox started though after rebooting PC.

The links i provided will help you to resolve your problem. Its your choice if you don't want to solve the problem.

-> Create a New Profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

-> Basic Troubleshooting: Make a New Profile

-> If that New Profile works then you can recover your Bookmarks and Passwords from the Old Profile.

-> Recovering important data from an old profile

Check and tell if its working.

Nothing works. None of the provided links helped to fix the problem.

At the and I just installed a new Windows with a latest drivers and fresh new Firefox. I didn't even import old profile. BUT IT STILL CRASHES!

Can you post your NEW Crash IDs here..

Posting recent crash IDs from use of firefox in safe mode with plug-ins disabled should help identify the cause. If you see the Crash IDs with a prefix of bp that is an indication that they were submitted (or certainly there was an attempt to submit them -{ not sure whether it verifies success?}).

As far as scanning for malware is concerned have a look at this recent answer from the-edmeister as to suggested methods.

This is recent without safe mode. 3a8c76b9-8b73-4d92-87c7-ae14ef7b63fa29.11.201112:48 bp-b54c78c8-97c3-4328-9f24-407f1211112929.11.201112:18 bp-dd1de4d7-0826-4973-9db9-eb00d211112929.11.201112:18 bp-05360993-d1c7-442c-bbc3-dadeb211112929.11.201112:18 bp-443b2e3b-b298-4e6b-b66e-f976b211112929.11.201112:18 bp-95d4b7c4-f2af-4bbd-a30d-b91d4211112929.11.201112:18 bp-2b77cbc3-cf5c-4b63-895f-72e6a211112829.11.20111:33

I don't see any possibility for malware being in my system - I haven't yet installed anything except system, drivers and browser when it started to crash.

For some odd reason I get no info about the crash IDs you have provided, (I did see a comment about datacentre problems no idea if that is related) but what would be useful is crash IDs from crashes that occur when you are in safe mode, with default theme and with plugins disabled.

Of course it is possible that configured like that you do not get Firefox crashes !
