thx mha007! I have found the first link before but can't work out the about:config thing... I type that in the location bar above and nothing... no list of preferences appear, the location bar is where you type urls right?

so no idea I'm afraid which is why I posted this q.

Type about:config in the Location (address or URL) Bar and press Enter.

• When you see a warning dialogue, click I'll be careful, I promise button.

A list of preferences will appear

• Preferences that have been modified are shown as bold(user set).
• Preferences can be Reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

• In the Filter bar at top of the about:config page, type print.print_printer

Now follow the instructions in the link: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages

Thanks! The mazillazine.org instructions for resetting the printer worked fine. I also disabled all my add-ons and extensions before I reset all the parameters, then turned them all on one by one to see if any add-ons or extensions were culprits. After the reset, the ad-ons and extensions were fine. Thanks again!

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages does not work at all. "print.print_printer" does not exist. Down below, in the list of preferences, FF lists the printers I have used with previous versions of FF, but "print.print_printer" is not there.
