New Tabs Randomly Moved To New Window, Why?
Upon opening a new tab it will sometimes get moved to a new window. Just now as a matter of fact I was opening 4 new tabs in succession. When I opened the final fourth one I clicked back to the main tab (#5) & immediately all following tabs were moved to a new window. Why does this sometimes happen & is any 1 else having the same problem???

A few times a week

When I open a new tab (sometimes).
- Shockwave Flash 10.3 r183
- NPRuntime Script Plug-in Library for Java(TM) Deploy
- Next Generation Java Plug-in 1.6.0_26 for Mozilla browsers
- Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 10.1.0
- User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:5.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0.1
It doesn't matter how many new tabs were opened, it can occur after 1 or more. Whatever is happening here doesn't seem to be effecting my Firefox's performance. It's purely just an annoyance & I'd like to at least know that I'm not the only 1 with this problem.
If you drag a tab away from the tab bar, it will "tear off" and become a new window. Could it be that you are accidentally the dragging the tab slightly when you click on it?
bug489729 (Disable detach and tear off tab):
How do I disable tab tear off?
Install the add-on which cor-el hyperlinked.
Okay, so how do you get the dang window BACK to the tab position??
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.
