Win7, all updated software, cleartype on, firefox 5.0.1, has extreamly blurry and bold fonts. How do I fix this?
The fonts are clear and fine on Chrome and IE, and pretty much everywhere else on my computer so its just firefox. I want to use firefox over any other browser but the fonts are just so ugly, bold and blurry its to annoying to use it anymore.
I can't find anything anywhere on the web or in the browser's options that have to do with font smoothing. Its odd because some text is like that, and other times its just like cleartype was turned off and its really edgy and windows 95 looking.
I am only having this problem in firefox.
Thanks for taking your time to answer this if you've read this far.

Try to disable "Morphological Filtering" in the Catalyst display driver:
- Catalyst Control Center > 3D Settings > Disable Morphological Filtering
Try to disable hardware acceleration.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
- Anti-Aliasing Tuner: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/anti-aliasing-tuner/
