How can I uninstall Firefox 4.0.1

I have a MAC with 10.6.8 operating system. I have been trying to uninstall Firefox 4.0.1. When I drag it to the trash from the Finder application I get a message that I cannot delete it. I'm not running Firefox when I try to delete it. What can I do to get Firefox off of my machine?
