Why does firefox slow down my computer for an hour everyday, rendering it virtually unusable?
Firefox starts some sort of scan on my computer daily at approx. 12pm, rendering it virtually unusable. Documents, e-mails, webpages, etc,. literally take minutes to open and close, and may times my computer just stops working and has to be re-started. Why is this happening and how can I get it to stop. I'll be switching to google chrome if this continues.

Firefox does not do scans. Maybe it is your Anti-virus/anti-spyware application doing the scanning. You do have AV/AS don't you?
