I have Linux on my Asus notebook that I bought in 2008. When I click download updated Firefox or even Adobe Acrobat or anything, the file is saved but nothing is updated. I cannot run the program or anything. I just want to know how to update my browser because it is really old and I cannot view a lot of videos or websites.

More Information

The troubleshooting on the website does not help me fix the problem. I don't know why the file gets saved and when I try to open it nothing happens.
