What happened to the "Bookmark All Tabs" function in Firefox 4.0.1?

I found the "Bookmark all tabs" function very helpful when I went to close down Firefox (to recover memory), but wanted to be able to remember the bookmarks. In Version 4.0.1, this seems to have been supplanted by Tab Groups in Panorama, but this isn't the same thing. I just want a simple way to bookmark or make a tab group of ALL the currently open tabs.

{ Ctrl + Shft + D } to trigger Bookmark All Tabs or use the Bookmark All Tabs... menu item in the context menu for each Tab.

Thanks, edmeister! That's just what I needed. Funny, when I searched in Firefox Help for "bookmark all tabs" nothing came up.

Don't forget that, on a Mac like mine, the Ctrl key PC function is taken over by the CMD key - {CMD + Shift + D} does the trick.

Some more information:

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).

You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or Alt+B to open the Bookmarks menu and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.

  • "Bookmark All Tabs" (Shift+Ctrl+D) no longer shows in the Bookmarks menu unless you open the Bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
  • "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.
  • "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
