I ran into this problem in a much more complex HTML file, but here is a simple file that recreates the issue:

<script type="text/javascript"> function selectWorks() { window.alert("Selected"); } </script>

<form> <select size="4" onclick="selectWorks();" multiple> <option>A</option> <option>B</option> <option>C</option> <option>D</option> <option>E</option> <option>F</option> <option>G</option> <option>H</option> <option>I</option> <option>J</option> </select> </form>

Note that the behavior is correct in Google Chrome.

I have also reproduced this error in both Firefox and Seamonkey a Windows XP environment.
