every time i restart vista my theme disappears

I have windows vista and Firefox v4.01 Every time i try and put a new theme on my firefox it vanishes once i restart vista and goes back to the default theme. Ive tried various themes and it happens on them all - so cant seem to put any new theme on firefox 4 now because once i restart vista after the initial restart from installing a new theme it vanishes again back to the default. is this a problem with firefox 4
