Firefox does not allow enough time for some websites to complete their search, how can this time limit be extended?

When doing searches on hotel or travel websites Firefox closes down the website when it does not respond within 30 seconds or less. Some of the sites state on their search that it may take up to a minute to complete the search. I need to change the amount of time that Firefox allows for a website to respond.
