How do I keep the extensions in place so they will not disappear when restarting. Putting them back in place each time is a drag.

Everytime I re-open Firefox after deleting add-ons, it restores them and drops extensions I've added to toolbars. It remembers nothing from each session. Very frustrating and troublesome.
