On the previous version of Firefox I didn't have to type in www. or .com but just the name of the website (Ex: "amazon") and it would take me there. Now when i do that it simply results in a google search for that name.

I recently upgraded to Firefox 4 and at first thought it was pretty cool. Everything I read about made it seem like it was going to be a huge improvement.

However, since I've started using it a few things of cropped up that are bugging me. Most of them are small matters that I'll eventually get used to (for example, when i right click a link the "Open in a new tab" and "Open in a new window" options are reversed so by instinct I am accidentally clicking on the wrong option).

My biggest problem though is that in the last version of Firefox I used (don't remember the exact version but 3.something) when I wanted to go to a common website (Amazon.com, for example) I didn't need to type in "www." or ".com" or anything, just "amazon" and it would take me straight to it.

Now when I do that instead of taking me to the website I get a google search results page for "amazon". This is very annoying and a step down from the previous version as far as I am concerned.

Another issue I encountered involves video download add-ons. I use the Ant video downloader and ever since I got Firefox 4 when I watch videos I've downloaded and I try to maximize them the screen just goes black (although the time and audio of the video continue).

These are problems that need to be addressed if I am going to continue using Firefox, which I have been using exclusively for years.

You can modify the pref keyword.URL on the about:config page to use Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" or Google's "Browse By Name".
