Since the update today to 3.6.17 when I click to open a new tab it does not open
the plus sign to the right of the open tab{s] no longer works since the update. Is this intentional or just a bug? It is the same on both my pcs running firefox.

Hi, How68ard!
I thought I didn't have an Ask bar as well... the thing is: I had a Foxit bar for my pdf reader and the Foxit bar had an Ask search tool embedded.
I just uninstalled my Foxit bar (and the Ask search, as a result) and the "new tab" function(CTRL+T and "+" sign) is working again!
Do you think it might be something similar with you?
Hope this helps!
Kind regards

I have noticed that Control + T does not open a new tab either.
Un-install the Ask Toolbar. Many users have reported the Ask Toolbar causes Firefox to not open new tabs. It is the responsibility of Ask to fix the problem with their toolbar.
I do not have the ask toolbar installed. Does anyone know how I can roll back to the previous version and if done how to stop this version loading again?
That Ask.com toolbar shows as "AskTbFXTV5/3.11.3.15590" in the user agent in your 'More system details list".

Thanks jamboverde and cor-el that was it I like Foxit and had no idea it installed the Ask stuff. Thanks again.
I had a similar problem in ff4, 3.16, & 3.15 - I disabled SiteAdvisor and the problem ceased. In my case, SiteAdvisor was the only common denominator. Hope this helped.
I know that simply pressing F1 works, but I'd love to be able to click the "+" sign because that's my initial response when I want to open a new tab.
I don't have the Ask tool bar, Foxit, or Site Advisor, but I had the "no new tabs" problem.
I discovered the Crowdstar Toolbar was causing the problem, by disabling my add- ons one at a time.
