How do I get back my edit functions, copy and paste, without doing a restore?

Posted

When I switched to Firefox 4 I no longer have the file, edit, etc. functions anywhere. I can't or don't know how to copy and paste websites to emails for instance without the edit functions.

Chosen solution

It sounds like you have the menu bar hidden. If the Firefox button (orange one - top left corner) is visible - click it and go to options and tick menu bar.

More Information

How do I copy and paste anymore. Google Chrome did that too and I went back to Mozilla. Now you do it too. Where did it go, I watched and read all your intro stuff. Also on my iTouch I want to go back to my previous browser because Firefox 4 won't play have of the new videos on YouTube. I don't know if that's the case on my pc too but I hope not. Maybe synching would help.

You can also find toolbar buttons for Copy, Paste, and Cut in the toolbar palette and drag them on a toolbar.

Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

Question owner

Thanks Cor-el. I haven't tried that yet but I bookmarked it.

I have checked the toolbar buttons and have MENU ticked, I went to the customize toolbar thing and added (by drag and drop) the cut copy and paste and other buttons I cant find now, and they showed up at first, then they disappeared. The top section seems terribly narrow now and I cant find any way to add the buttons underneath where they used to be...help!

Did you check that all toolbars are visible?

You can also check for problems with the file localstore.rdf that stores the toolbar customization data.
