After upgrading to Firefox 4, certain characters such as hyphens and quotation marks, appear as a question mark in a diamond. Note: I do not have Real Player installed. Here is an example: NEW YORK (Reuters)�Here's some advice for anyone hoping not to get caught in an insider trading web: Shut up.

You can check the encoding that is used by Firefox to display the page via View > Character Encoding and switch to UTF-8 or Western (ISO-8959-1).
You can also try the Auto-Detect > Universal setting

  • Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
