I want to change the look of the user interface for version 4.0

I just upgraded to version 4.0, but I do not like the way the user interface appears when the window is maximized to the screen.

When the browser window is maximized all of the controls appear have a black or gray background that makes it hard to look at without getting eye strain. The tab navigation buttons are almost impossible for me to see when it is like this, probably due to lack of contrast. I am partially colorblind and I need contrast to distinguish between close shades.

When the window is not maximized, the controls are translucent and you can sort of see what is directly behind it. This is better, but I would prefer that the controls be opaque to what is behind the window and I would like it to be the same whether the window is maximized or not.

Is there anyway to adjust the user interface like this?

My OS is Win XP Pro. I changed to a "solid" persona: Home>Features>Powerful Personalization> Choose Personas, select one, then browse "All Personas", in Categories choose "Solid" then try several. Sad to say, I like "MS Office" because that works fine with my vision issue.  :)

It's too long a trip to get here, imho.  :(
