I am can't enable Java because the Firefox Options/Content window does bot have "enable Java" listed (it only lists "enable Java Script"). I have downloaded the latest versions of Firefox and Java and I have deleted old versions of Java. Java works perfectly using Internet Explorer so problem is not with Security software. Thanks

In Firefox 3.6 the Java plugin is treated just like all other plugins and no longer has a enable check box in Tools > Options > Content.

You can enable or disable all plugins including Java via Tools > Add-ons > Plugins
