There is a feature within an add-on or extension called SmartLink that automatically links to wikipedia. Where do I find this, and how do I change the options?

I've noticed that while using Firefox I find in many pages there are text such as names that become hyperlinks that open in wikipedia. The majority of these links open to the wrong pages. The only similarity is the name searched.

Possibly the URL Fixer extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/url-fixer

That one has a feature called SmartLinks

Thanks TonyE. I checked, and found that I don't have that extension. It has to be something else.

I have this same problem and I can't find the addon anywhere. I got it through Firefox addons so I would expect to be able to find it there. But I can't and I'm getting to the point of frustration of going to Google Chrome.

I never did find the add-on, but I did find a menu option at the bottom under Tools. Mouse over it and you can un-check "Enable SmartLinks". There is also a "Remove SmartLinks" option. So that's done.

Thanks Davjohn,

Been looking everywhere for this tip! It worked. I have no problem with copying text anymore. It used to open a link when I select before the letter of the text.

I had the same problem, but when I disabled a module called: SkipScreen everything is back to normal.
