Hi, This morning I cleared my history and my cookies and all that. I cleared everything out. Now the address bar won't remember anything I type into it. I don't want the stupid feature that completes what you're typing, I just want the FF address bar to remember google and facebook so I don't have to keep typing them in every time I want to. It worked fine this morning, and I don't know how to fix it. Please help! I've had an insanely bad day and this whole thing is just making me want to cry now.

Make sure that the Location Bar is not set to "Nothing":

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: History, Bookmarks, History and Bookmarks

This can also be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I don't have an option for the Location Bar under Tools. Where do I find it?

Tools > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: History, Bookmarks, History and Bookmarks

It's in the Settings for privacy, browsing history and do-not-track at the bottom
(see the linked article for more info)

I'm on a Mac.

I can't find the pop up screen suggested in the last reply at Tools?

Under Tools options on my machine are >Web Search or >Downloads or > Add-ons or > Error Console or > Page Info.

There is no Tools > Options... that I can see. Help!

If you are not on Windows then instead of Tools > Options use:

  • Linux: Edit > Preferences
  • Mac: Firefox > Preferences
  • Windows: Firefox > Options or Tools > Options

Press F10 if the menu bar is hidden on Windows and Linux
