Firefox 4. Select TOOLS, Add-ons. Brings up window that says "When you are connected to the internet, this pane will feature some of the best and most popular add-ons for you to try out." I was connected to the internet and I don't get the available add-ons. Tried multiple times

Try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the Safe mode start window.
