Chosen solution

Mouse pointer freezing whenever it comes across items that use some kind of animation or gradual highlighting when hovered upon (which is basically all Firefox 4 menu items, tabs etc. But also lots of stuff on webpages like the green buttons on this page that change color when you move your mouse over them).

After rebooting my system however, the problem seems to have disappeared!

That seemed not to be the same problem, but my posted issue occurs for my IBM Thinkpad T410 only (now upgrated to official version 4). The installation of version 4 RC1 on my Fujitsu Lifebook A series runs without any restrictions. So I'll delete an re-install the V4 on my IBM machine and see if the problem is disappeared or not. Thanks for answer.

I use a Lenovo Thinkpad T410 also, and I identified two different scenario's: 1. Docked with secondary monitor connected to docking station: No problems

2. Undocked with secondary monitor connected to side VGA : Jerky mouse when Firefox is sitting on 2nd display, no problems when using it on the primary monitor (using the official firefox 4 release)

I use my T410 with DS only, 2 connected 17 inch displays (VGA and DVI interfaces) with reselouten 1440x900 both displays, Intel HD graphic ship. Further I couln't see any problems if I use without external screen. I don't have checked undocked with secondary monitor connected to VGA. Did you re-install the V4 incl. delete the current folder?

Thanks

I had this problem after installing 4.0

I have now turned off mouse-trails via the Windows Control Panel which seems to have bypassed it.
