yahoo toolbar and google toolbar enter in google search, appears in yahoo search, like they are connected

Yesterday the aps for my older yahoo toolbar would not open after loading the latest version of Firefox. I had to reload the yahoo toolbar. Now when I use the Google search field, and hit search, the same typed words from the google search field appear in the yahoo search box. Also the menu bar now has Yahoo on it. I would like it to go away.
