Firefox does not load on power up

Firefox does not load when i power up my Windows XP desktop, even though i have a firefox shortcut in ...start menu\programs\startup alongside an Outlook 2007 shortcut and desktop.ini which both work. I've deleted the firefox shortcut and replaced it and rebooted but it still won't load on power up. I have to click on the shortcut to run it? Please help
