After upgrading Firefox, NO browser will work anymore except for Internet Explorer.
I was using firefox when at the bottom of the page, I was told that my version of the browser was no longer protected from online attacks. I was prompted to upgrade. Since I'd recently had a bout with several viruses, I upgraded when prompted. Now firefox will not work. I have downloaded other browsers and they will not work either. All that works is Internet Explorer. I modifed my firewall, even disabling it. I ran all my antivirus scanners, then disabled those too. Nothing is working. Firefox, why did you break my computer?

Sorry for your bad experience. But this not a Firefox problem, I have been using Firefox when I was 8 years old. Could you be more specific, which website told you that your version of the browser was no longer protected from online attacks???

I was using the default firefox settings, so I was on the default homepage. It was a google.com search bar with the firefox insignia surrounding it.
Every time I opened my browser, a message prompting me to upgrade firefox was at the bottom of the page. That's why I assumed it was a legitimate problem.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.
