When I try to view videos, mozilla says that I have to install a plug-in. However, plug-ins are installed and they work fine with Internet Explorer. Is there something blocking these from Mozilla?

I have all plug-ins installed on my computer, it works with Internet Explorer but not with Mozilla Firefox

Chosen solution

This is likely to be the Flash plugin, and Firefox and IE do not use the same Flash plugin. Your list of plugins shows that the Flash plugin used by Firefox is not installed. Using Firefox you can visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer to install Flash. An alternative method (this is what I prefer), you can use the manual installers to install Flash, for details see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_ManualInstaller

This reminds me of a similar problem I had and it turned out that I had t0 install MS Windows Media Player Firefox plugin as that certain site demanded WMP.

You can find it:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7

Last thing on page, which eventually redirects you to this page... at least for XP and Vista. It also works on Win 7 just fine.

Hope it helps :P

I seem to have the same problem but with no success with the above postings. This is the version I am using

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13

Things I have tried....

Uninstalled Flash Player and reinstalled rebooted my pc and received the same result videos will not play. I have done this several times with no success. Any help would be much appreciated. I have also attached a small screen shot of what I am seeing. I have enabled the plugin and re-enabled it several times. Ran the Adobe flash .exe as an Admin opened Firefox as an Admin. Received the same results. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

It appears you are using Firefox 3.6.13. Upgrade to Version 4 ASAP to potentially avoid conflicts with plugins, extensions, etc., and to also receive the much needed security updates!

Per your help request, I recommend getting the Flash Player here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ The current version for Vista is 10.2.153.1 .

Don't worry, your operating system will be automatically detected on Adobe's website, which will allow you to get the correct file for your OS.

It appears from your screenshot that you don't have getPlusPlus for Adobe installed. It is Adobe's download manager. If at any point you are asked to download getPlusPlus, do so, and allow it through your firewall at least once, more if needed. From that point, it will download updates from the web for Reader X(latest version),etc. whenever ran again. Note: If you see that Adobe says Firefox needs to be closed in order to proceed with installation, you will have to manually exit Firefox. Once that is done, installation will complete, and there will be no need to reboot your computer.

Important: Make sure you are downloading the file using Firefox, to ensure that you get the Firefox versions. It should install without any problems.

I would update your Firefox experience first, above all, then DL the files.

I've included a Shot from my Vista PC, Firefox 4!

Good luck, and happy surfing!
