How do I get a new tab to open in google istead of a blank one ?

When I open a new tab instead of there being a search engine bar it is blank . How do I change this so when I open a new tab there is a search engine available ie : google It was there originally and then changed to Bing ( which I hate ) and I clicked a box on the right of the screen and the search engine was gone . How do I restore this ?
