how do i recover all my bookmarks after uninstalling firefox 4 beta 8
i had firefox 4 beta 8 installed and i had all my bookmarks in it. I downloaded firefox 4 beta 9 and installed it. my bookmarks were showing up fine in beta 9 so i went ahead and uninstalled firefox 4 beta 8 completely. so while i did that i closed beta 9 and when i went to open my bookmarks were completely gone. so of course i reinstalled beta 8 and no luck tried system restore but it was completely turned off so no luck either. so my question is , is there anyway to recover all my bookmarks back ?

Thanks Scoobi in my case i went to the folder explained here
(Firefox 3.6): At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information.... The Troubleshooting Information tab will open.
Under Application Basics, click on Open Containing Folder.
From the menu at the top of the Firefox window, select File and then select the Exit menu item. In your profile folder, delete the places.sqlite file and, if it exists, places.sqlite-journal.
and did the following
Closed firefox then
i went to username>Appdata>Local>Mozilla>Firefox>Profiles
Now there were 2 profiles by the dates i could tell which was my new profile created by beta 9 .
so what i did was went inside the profile folder to beta 8 copied the places.sqlite file backed out to where both profiles were went into beta 9 profile folder and pasted and overwrote the places.sqlite file.
i then closed all the folders and all windows i opened. went to my desktop and clicked on the firefox icon opened it up and all my bookmarks were restored.
Thanks A Million . hope this helps anyone
