About 2 weeks ago a problem appeared - I can access my Hotmail account, see my inbox and other folders, but I can't actually open or delete any messages but I can access these folders via IE8.
Using XP SP3

Not reproducible under Linux.
But I do not have Linux only XP so this does not help ?
For the past few days i had been having this problem. I worked it out by re-installing and updating Java. Worked for me, maybe it will for y'all too
I also have this problem with F4 beta 8 on windows 7 pro and home premium but also with a not clean profile, so i think it depends on some extension i use
I also had this problem but fixed it by unchecking the box ( in the options menu) that selects firefox as default browser. (and leaving it unchecked ) Hope this helps
pdc95- It's not about fixing your problem. It's about providing related information to developers to narrow down the problem (as in, it's confined to Windows systems) to make the non-beta deliverable browser a stable product.
If you want something you know works right, don't use a beta.

I have exactly the same problem but not with a Hotmail account but with Talk Talk, it seems crazy if so many people have this problem & yet there is still no solution because obviously many users including me will stick with IE8 or some other browser until a fix is available because few can function without email.
