What is going on with Firefox's compatibility with Windows 7?

I use Firefox at home and work. I love it! But in the last 8 months I have had nothing but problems with Firefox at work. (a year ago we switched to Windows 7, I didn't start having problems though until about 8 months ago) It constantly locks up, I get "not responding" notices, or if I close it and and later click on the icon, it says its still running. It's making me want to go back to Internet Explorer (which I hate). What's going on? I don't have this problem at home on my XP OS.
