Firefox keeps crashing unexpectedly, over 45 times now. I can't figure out why nor how to stop it.

I have had firefox for years and within the past week it has crashed unexpectedly a lot, over 45 times now. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, I have used different themes, I've scanned it with my anti-virus several times, I have changed my add-ons and nothing seems to be working.

Type about:crashes in the URL bar and hit Enter. Click the hyperlinks to bring up the Crash Report pages and copy'n'paste the URL of each of those reports into the message box here. We'll see if we can help you figure out what is causing those crashes to happen.

There is a bug report linked to your crash ID, but that seems to be related to Kaspersky software and that doesn't show in your modules list (I only see AVG). So your crash might be different.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

Do you have any security software that might be locking files in the profile folder?

Looks that Firefox is trying to copy some files.

The crashes seem to be related to DOM Storage, but the linked bug reports do not seem to apply in your case.

Try to delete the files chromeappsstore.sqlite and webappsstore.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder.

You can also check if DOM storage is enabled.

I've used firefox for yonks and it's brilliant, but in the last few days on this machine (Win XP 32 bit) it has just frozen and it stops other windows working too. I can't close it unless I use task manager but no crash report option comes up and the about:crashes does not bring up any reports. I repeatedly got it by trying to load http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DHY6YUL0 and although that works OK now it does happen with other sites

Nilamoore, the owner, get rid of your Conduit Engine a major cause of problems. Google for advice.

Everyone else with problems please ask you own question where we can see your system details. This thread has just become a jumble.

firesfox has been crashing multiple times a day since July 5

more options

@brynalevin@earthlink.net

That looks like a problem with starting a plugin.

Do you have the plugin-container process enabled?

Also make sure that you allow the plugin-container process in the firewall.

I've also been encountering multiple crashes per day since July 5. I just followed the instructions you gave brynalevin, but the problem persisted so I changed my settings back.

Here are my crash reports from today. Let me know if you need more to troubleshoot. Thanks!

I'm on a mac running os X version 10.7.1 and Firefox 6.0.2 and I have been having this problem for at least 3 months now. I'm not sure if it is related, but eventually the mac will have to be rebooted as well. The crash reports are below:
