You're not the only one. Despite other comments, it's not a RAM issue. I have been having the problem for a week. I sent numerous complaints to Facebook, but their IT staff is either poorly trained or grossly understaffed, because nothing gets done, and you never get a response.
My home page loads, and that's it. I've tried it on three computers in my home, and in Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, and get the same result in all three, as well as on my other computers.
I hope they will eventually resolve the issue, but it's MADDENING. I got my Facebook access back on Thursday night, and it worked for the weekend, but I lost it this morning again.

I been having this happen for a while. Worse after the last Flash upgrade. But I am beginning to think that this is more of a server problem. It can't handle the traffic that facebook probably way underestimated would be on it. Seems the games even have trouble interfacing with facebook. I hope this isn't the problem and it is something they can fix because it's super annoying. I can be just fine and when someone posts a chat window ...... instant "not responding" with wait time.
I also have been having this problem quite a lot over the last couple of months, only seems to happen in Facebook. It is driving me crazy, does anyone know how to resolve it.
Same here and getting worse. Did a Flash update today and now almost everything I hit on FB locks up with the infamous Firefox not responding error. Who should be addressing this>?
I had this same issue and solved it. The problem was a registry error. Follow the instructions below to resolve it.
Go to 'Run' and open 'cmd' • Type 'netsh' in command console then press enter • Then type 'winsock' and press enter and then type reset • Restart Your PC
• Problem Is Solved :)
