Why isn't a blocking cookie from Blogspot working for me?

I'm trying to set up my stats counter on Blogspot to ignore my own visits. It tells me that it will install a blocking cookie on my browser, but when I save that selection, I go back to the stats page and find that the link there still offers me the option to not track my visits. And my stats still show my visits. My Firefox preferences are set to Accept cookies from sites and to Accept third-party cookies. Anyone got any suggestions?
